This has led him to roleplay such a hardboiled detective in every game he can, with him having played an Alf Assassin in Elder Saga specialising in tracing to achieve this aim there, and wearing dark, long clothing to simulate trenchcoats and hats. However, Joey, for all that he enjoys the trappings of being "hardboiled", lacks the cynicism, emotional hardness or stoicism necessary; a visibly emotional, cheerful and idealistic young man, Joey has often been dubbed "softboiled" by those around him as an affectionate, albeit teasing moniker. This is true of his real-life self, who is known as helpful around the neighborhood, if slightly eccentric due to his fascination with being hardboiled. This contributed to his choice of build and resident Shard; Lugh best fits the sort of atmosphere needed for a "hardboiled" detective, and Corinth is known as the City of Wind and Thunder, befitting the dramatic aura he sought to emulate. When Rebel Impulse first came out, Joey joined the game with some real life friends, who rapidly dropped Rebel Impulse to play Diabolos Dive. While his friends were still playing, Joey founded a small guild, the Corinth Detective Agency. Not letting this stop him, Joey continued for a year on his own, solving small cases and helping out other players, with one major case involving him fighting off members of Fight Club, doing much the same thing as he did in reality and barely maintaining both himself and his Guild with the earnings. It was a year until a mysterious player, Maya, elected to join his Guild out of nowhere, much to Joey's confused delight. Since that day, Maya and Joey have then solved cases and earned a small reputation in Lugh, though nowhere near the titanic reputation of even a smaller guild such as the Moonlit Black Cats, and earn enough to keep the Guild afloat, albeit barely. As a player, Joey is somewhat skilled at Rebel Impulse, though nowhere near the top levels of the game, as evidenced by arena rankings in Corinth placing him in the relatively lowly area of the Top 90, but his marksmanship scores are relatively high.
